   The Australian Curriculum

The Australian Curriculum is the foundation for me to develop motivating, relevant and purposeful learning programs to cater for individual diversity.

I believe every child has the right to achieve the outcomes set in The Australian Curriculum, and many will need differentiated teaching and learning strategies to help them reach their goals.

I am interested in the three cross-curricular priorities in The Australian Curriculum; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia and Sustainability.  When I have my own classroom I plan to devote one term to each of the three cross-curricular priorities.

Another focus will be to develop the Seven General Capabilities in all learners. These Capabilities allow students to realise the goals set out in the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians (MCEETYA 2008) which will equip them with lifelong tools to become successful beyond their school years, into active and educated citizens.
