    Behaviour Management

I have a firm, fair manner and a positive verbal style when talking to students.

I use a positive incentive program within the classroom which allows me to 'catch students doing the right thing.'

When misbehaviour does occur, I regard it as  a wrong choice; that it is the actions that are wrong and not the child themselves.

I am guided by Peter Smilanich and Barrie Bennett’s 'Theory of Bumps' and realise that students will all misbehave to varying degrees at some stage, and I need to match an appropriate low key response to prevent the misbehaviour or deal with it before it escalates.
